First things first
So this is the first in what i hope to be somewhat regular posts about my experiences during my service in the US Peace Corps. I am going to be stationed in the Philippines from May 06 through August 09, and i will being doing Coastal Resources Management during my two years of service. It is noteworthy that i feel somewhat under qualified for the job but it is one that I have gladly taken on. I believe in the people that have decided to put me in the position and i believe that i will get the necessary training to be successful at the projects that i will take on. I have been going through the application process for just over a year now, and it is finally time to go. I have no idea what is ahead for me as I start to say my goodbyes here in the US and prepare to leave a life of relative comfort for an entirely new one in a different culture from anything I have experience in my life. I am under no illusion that is going to be a very difficult challenge in my life. But i am also aware of the impact that it will have on all areas of my life and how I live it. This will most certainly be an incredible adventure, yet i am also aware that i can not do it alone. I ask for your support as i prepare to leave and during my time overseas. I also ask that you keep me in your prayers as because feel I am taking a very large step in my faith.
